John Frusciante

This piece was quite special for me. I had attempted a sketch of him when I first started drawing years ago. He was my favourite guitarist of my favourite band at the time and I idolised him a lot. His journey through fame, loss, and drug addiction is remarkable and the fact that through long lasting friendship he was able to get help and kickstart his life again is amazing. I took another shot at repainting him and it came out beautifully. One of the first paintings I was proud of.

I entered this painting into the Inner North Art Prize in 2016 and became a finalist, getting my painting hung in the Front Gallery and Cafe and eventually purchased by an interested viewer! A very exciting piece.
